2008-03-31 - Sackville Flyers Midget B Wins Gold in Trenton

Playing hard with a short bench they defeated St. Mary's 4-0 in the final. The skills competition saw Cody Gilby win as top shooter and Cody Brewer for top goaltender shutting all shooters out. Andrew Munro and Cody Brewer also made the All Star line. Congratulations to coaches and players for a tournament well played.


2008-03-30 - Bantam A Flyers win three gold including Provincials.

Congratulations to a very hard working Sackville Flyers Bantam A team on winning the Provincial Campionship this weekend in Shelburne. All players hit the ice running and never looked back until they threw their helmets & stick and arms in the air with a 4-2 victory over East Hants. After the player came out of their victory dance, only one question remains..How did Peckford's jersey come off?

During the Skills Competition Will Sheppard won fastest backwards skater, Deven Brann put everyone to shame for most accurate shot (5 out of 6) , and Brandon Cranidge the shoot-out winner.

Congratulations go out to the following players in winning individual awards:

Connor MacNamara and Andrew Skinner made the All Star Team.
Mike Lunn won goaltender of the Provincials
Andrew Skinner won top scorer of the Provincials.

Seven days "THREE GOLD MEDALS !!!, Gold in CASCO BAY championship in Maine, USA, Tournament of Champions and Provincials.


2008-03-29 - Bantam B Flyers win Birthplace of Hockey Tournament

After playing 8 games over 5 days, the Sackville Bantam B Flyers defeated Bedford in the Championship game 2-0. The Flyers finished the tournament with a 7-1 record, needing to win their final 5 games in a row to complete the tournament marathon as Champions.


2008-03-26 - Midget BB Boys Win Gold in Tatamagouche!

At the Wayne Waugh Memorial Tournament in Tatamagouche on March 23, the team went undefeated, playing 3 games on Sunday against Tatamagouche (twice) and Hamden, NB to win the GOLD Medal. Congratulation boys. The weekend before the boys fought hard in Pictou and won the silver medal in the Teresa Gallant Tournament.


2008-03-24 - Bantam A League Winners and CMHF Tournament Champs

Congratulations to the Bantam A team on being the League Winners and ending the regular season play by winning the CMHF Tournament of Champions. Good Luck this weekend as they head to Shelburne for the Provincials. Remember TGIF & SOI


2008-03-12 - Josiah Bartlett for wins goaltending award.
CONGRATULATIONS to Josiah Bartlett for winning the goaltender portion of the Joe Lamontange Midget AA hockey shootout. The Sackville Flyers Midget AA team won silver in the tournament.


2008-03-12 - Midget AA win Silver
The parents of the Sackville Flyers Midget AA team would like to congratulate the players on a fantastic effort in the Championship game at the Joe Lamontange Tourmnament. It was three exciting on the edge of your seats action packed, no penalty periods, we kept our opponents on their heels and the game was tied 3-3 until the final minutes! They got the empty netter to make it 5-3. Way to go team - we are proud of you!

2008-01-23 - Midget BB team win gold
Midget BB team won the gold medal in North Sydney at the Northside & District Minor Hockey Association Midget B tournament, January 18-20.


2008-01-19 - Sackville Junior Ringette Team win Gold

The Sackville Junior Ringette team had a great Christmas by winning Gold in the 33rd Annual Sackville Ringette Christmas Tournament. Great Job.


2008-01-19 - Bantam B Flyers recently won Gold
Our Bantam B Flyers recently won Gold at the 3rd Annual Allan Floyd Memorial Tournament in TASA. The team went undefeated throughout the tournament defeating Dartmouth 2-0 in the Championship game.


2008-01-10 - Sackville Atom A win Silver Medal
Sackville Atom A win Silver Medal Winner at the 72nd Annual 2007 Bluenose Hockey Tournament in Amherst.


2008-01-09 - The Sackville Flyers Peewee Female Team Gives Back
Our Peewee Female team took on a special project this fall. We collected hats & mittens and provided a generous donation to the Salvation Army. The items will be distributed through local schools to children without warm winter wear. Thanks to all those that supported our hat & mitten drive!


2008-01-07 - Sackville Bantam AAA win gold.

2008-01-07 - Sackville Midget BB win Gold!!
The Midget BB team won the Gold at the Tasa Christmas Tournament from Dec 26 to Dec 31.

2008-01-02 - Bantam B wins Gold
The Sackville Bantam B team has won the Gold Medal in the Tasa tournament. They beat Dartmouth 2-0 in the championship game. They were undefeated in the tournament. Congratulations!!

2007-12-29 - Sackville Flyers Peewee Females win Gold

The Sackville Flyers Peewee Female team had a great Christmas! They brought home Gold from the Christmas with the Hawks Tournament, defeating Chebucto in the finals. Well done Flyers!


2007-12-14 - Midget AA Flyers win Silver

"The Sackville Midget AA Flyers hockey team won the silver medal at the 72nd annual Bluenose hockey tournament on the Dec 1st weekend in Amherst."


2007-12-02 - Peewee A's 3rd in the Bluenose tournament
The Sackville Flyers Peewee A's came in 3rd in the recent Bluenose tournament. Congratulations guys.

2007-10-25 - Peewee Female Team win Gold at the Bedford Blues Octoberfest Tournament

They played an exciting SIX periods of hockey, finally achieving that sweet overtime goal, winning 3 -2 over Bedford Blue. Well done Flyers!

2007-10-20 - Bluenoser pride

HOCKEY - Eight Nova Scotians will represent the Atlantic region at the Canadian under-18 girls hockey championship from November 7-11 in Kitchener, Ont.

Ashley Boutilier of Sackville, Brittany Haverstock of Hammonds Plains, Jenna Pitts and Erin Brophy, both of Antigonish Co., Nicole Hansom of Dartmouth, Alex Normore of Bedford, Jillian Saulnier of Halifax and Jessica Wong of Baddeck headline the list of 20 players.

Team Atlantic faces Ontario Blue in its tourney opener at the Aud on Nov. 7. Team Atlantic also meets B.C. and Saskatchewan in the round robin portion.

2007-10-01 - Wild Signs Rookie James Sheppard

James Sheppard James Sheppard has signed an Entry Level contract to remain with the Wild for the 2007-08 season. Minnesota Wild head coach Jacques Lemaire said recently that for a young hockey player to develop, he'd rather work with the kid himself than rely on another coach in another city. Lemaire will now get that chance with rookie center James Sheppard, arguably the Wild's top prospect. For full details click here.
